The Harley-Davidson Edition got its start in 2000, obviously, and featured a monochromatic, black-on-black color scheme with red pinstriping and plenty of Harley-Davidson badged. The truck was only available in a SuperCab and standard-length bed its first year, before moving to the SuperCrew and short bed size in 2001. Like all 2000 F-150 Harley-Davidson Editions, features a chrome grille, ten-spoke chrome wheels, and the Flairside bed. The Harley-Davidson Edition came with a bespoke interior not found on any other F-150. The leather seats feature unique lateral stitching and an embossed Harley-Davidson emblem. The front occupants enjoy bucket seats with a large center console. Rear passengers could sit three across on the rear bench. Like the standard F-150, the rear bench tumbles forward, revealing a metal loading platform for storing bulky items.
Luxury trucks were still in their infancy in 2000, but the Harley-Davidson Edition came with just about every available luxury item offered. The AM/FM radio came with both CD and cassette players, the driver had cruise control, power windows, power locks, and power mirrors, and white-faced gauges. All the Harley-Davidson Edition F-150s that rolled off the assembly line in 2000 came with the 5.4-liter Triton V-8. This was already an upgrade from the standard 4.2-liter V-6 and 4.6-liter V-8. However, this wasn?t enough for Ford. During construction of the truck, the engineers ordered that the 5.4-liter V-8 from the high-performance F-150 Lightning be fitted within between the fenders.
The Lightning?s V-8 was supercharged and created another 100 horsepower on top of the 5.4-liter?s 260. All told, this Harley-Davidson Edition makes 360 horsepower and an impressive 440 pound-feet of torque. A four-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels.
